Funding

There are quite a few funding opportunities for people looking to get into the filming/media industry, things such as loans, you could also bag yourself a sponsor or even apply for a government grant, which encourages creativity among teens.
The UK Film Council also use to fund filming projects until April 2001, when the BFI took over responsibilies for ensuring that the economic, cultural, and educational aspects of film are effectively represented at home and abroad.

There are so many other ways to try and get some funding, so I personally wouldn't say money is a BIG issue, but obviously some
people have better luck than others, but if you've got some good ideas and your very driven and motivated then you shouldn't have much problem trying to get some funding.
Personally the way I would go about finding a distributor for my Horror film opening would be to send big studios my film pitch and arranging some one-on-one time/meeting.
In an ideal world i would love for someone like Universal to pick up on my film, giving me constructive feedback and including some of their own ideas, actors, props, because they are the experts and so they know what would sell, and what people would enjoy to watch.

Film Pitch

http://prezi.com/gqc5w8a-mtxc/plot-for-my-horror-film/
This link will take you to the pitch that me and my partner have produced for our horror film opening.
The feedback from our classmates had us thinking a few questions to ourselves, like what if we are not able to find an abandoned warehouse/house where we would be allowed to film, although I myself have got a place in mind, im not sure we will be given full permission to use it in our footage, well the inside anyways.
Also another thing that we was questioned about was the fact that maybe the group of friends wouldnt be scared of the little girl, so we have decided to use make-up and give her a coolder, pale look, and make her look more like a crazy women, what we are trying to accomplish is a sense of suspense, because everyone is in coustume and being weird on hallowen then they wont suspect the child to be a killer, although children are used a lot in horror films.

My audience

This here is an image of my target audience 15-19 year olds. I have posted a picture of both males and females because both genders filled in my survey. My target audience enjoy watching Horror, Comedy, Action but also Romantic Films. From my survey i gathered that they rather enjoy 'The Nightmare On Elm Street'. Most teenagers are into reality and soaps, for example Big Brother, TOWIE, Eastenders and 90210. And these are the things they tend to do at the weekend, watch movies, with friends/family, they tend to use their free time to go out wih friends, but others are more into education and stay home to study or spend time with family.
Teenagers dont tend to eat healthy balanced diets, espically not breakfast; some wake-up to late and therefore havent got enough time to get themselves a good breakfast so instead they invest in an unhealthy pack of crips or sweets on the way to school. They tend to feast on sugar and fatty foods, therefore not eating much fruit or veg. This also goes for drinks, they enjoy fizzy stuff, such as Cola and KA. I wouldn't necassarly call the places they go to eat resturants, they usually go to places such as 'McDonalds, KFC, takeaways'
Teenagers tend to travel by puplic transport mainly bus, because oysters are free, others who live further awya take tube/train. To be honest I dont know any girls who are into sports, but males tend to be into stuff such as football and basketball. Not all teenagers are into politics, but those who are, tend to favour Labour Party more, this is becasue their policy tends tp give teenagers more freedom and ability to voice their veiws and opinions.

Teens dont have money to pay for their own holidays so they go whereever their parents take them, but I know that they all enjoy the sun and sea, because thats where alot of them tend to be when they are on holiday; at the beach with their friends/family.

The Green Screen Effect

Today we had a professional come in, introduce and explain how to use the green screen effect. I personally found this experience useful and also very entertaining.
First of all I learnt that the background doesn't necessarily have to be green, because in the editing stage we can pick the colour we want to fade out, as long as its ONE colour.
In my video we decided to adapt the famous titanic scene where Jack and Rose are sort of floating off the back of the boat. We used a white background but then realised that it wasnt such a good idea, firstly because one of the actresses was wearing a grey dress, and also because the white background had bad lighing, so it was harder for us to extract the whole background, but never the less, we still enjoyed.
As for using the effect in my later coursework horror film opening project, yes, i believe that i will use it, because it has made some of the ideas that i previously had seem a bit more possible.
